Taeler’s Song

Taeler is my nephew. He is the closest to my own son and our family’s miracle. Taeler had leukemia at the age of four.
He is the strongest person I’ve ever met. Thank you, Jesus, for sparing his life.

I love you, Taeler.

Taeler's Song Lyrics

The doctor read the chart
The mother fell apart
The family held their boy
And cried away their joy

A room that wasn’t home
He’d never been alone
The needles and the pain
Made his tears fall down like rain

But deep within his soul
His heart would not let go
The prayers all made us one
As we held my sister’s son

CHORUS:
I see God, Taeler, right where you stand
I have met a soldier with strength beyond
a man
I have seen one miracle that I can understand
Life is one breath away
From God’s own hand

He was startled and afraid
Beside him momma laid
He cried out, “Daddy, why?”
But still he had to try
Soon he lost his hair
Pretended not to care

That lonely walk to school
But God’s people helped him through

CHORUS:
I see God, Taeler, right where you stand
I have met a soldier with strength beyond
a man
I have seen one miracle that I can understand
Life is one breath away
From God’s own hand

BRIDGE:
You’re my hero
I’m praying for you
You’re my hero
I’m praying for you

You have earned the badge of honor
For the sick to come your way
Every veteran has a story
And this one’s yours today

CHORUS:
I see God, Taeler, right where you stand
I have met a soldier with strength beyond
a man
I have seen one miracle that I can understand
Life is one breath away
From God’s own hand
